Circular economy as a perspective for durable and functional (bio)plastics

The circular economy and bioeconomy are key starting points for the transformation to a sustainable economic system. The phasing out of fossil resources (bioeconomy) and a more efficient use of natural resources (circular economy) are necessary steps that have already been initiated in some areas, but such a comprehensive transformation will still take time.

The aim of this event is to present the wide range of possible applications for long-life plastic products and the reasons for their use in an environmentally friendly, circular economic system. The different approaches of the circular economy strategy as well as the possibilities of switching to biopolymers will be presented and discussed for individual areas of application of durable plastic products and the most promising options for these areas will be derived from this.
