In his presentation "Waste for Future", Reinhard Hubmann deals with the promotion of a circular economy in order to avoid wasting resources and protect the environment. Efficient resource management and the formation of alliances between industry and state institutions are important in order to extend the service life of products and optimise their recyclability.
Key measures include the introduction of circular economy strategies that start with the end user and are supported by modern technologies such as artificial intelligence. In addition, the polluter-pays principle is proposed, which places the costs for the disposal of non-recyclable materials on the polluters in order to promote more sustainable packaging and product solutions. The establishment of recycling alliances should enable closer collaboration between different stakeholders to increase resource efficiency and secure a greener future where waste is seen as a valuable resource.
