The „Used Cooking Oil Materials“ workshop focuses on how used cooking oil can be utilised as a material in line with the principles of the bioeconomy and the circular economy. Among other things, findings from the project „From Waste to Material: Material Recovery of Used Cooking Oil in the City of Vienna“ (project leader Dr Janesch, BOKU) will be presented and discussed with relevant stakeholders.
The focus is on:
Used cooking oil as a raw material for new materials
Conversion into composite materials
Applications for furniture, design and public spaces
Opportunities and barriers from the perspective of relevant stakeholders
Requirements for material characterisation, weathering tests and potential pilot applications
With stakeholders from:
Collection and recycling, catering, material development, design and public spaces.
