From 2 to 18 October 2026 The re:pair FESTIVAL is returning to the MuseumsQuartier. Visitors can look forward to a varied programme featuring more than 90 events and experts from Austria and abroad.
This year, the non-profit festival is once again entirely dedicated to the themes of Repair, Reuse and Upcycle and offers an exciting mix of events: the participatory exhibition „RADICAL SOCKS“, a wide range of creative workshops, repair clinics for musical instruments, bras, armchairs and electrical appliances, community events, a clothes swap party and 18 school workshops.
The festival will open on 2 October at 6.30 pm in Room D at the MuseumsQuartier with a concert and sing-along by the Kördölör choir, during which the audience is invited to join in. To mark its 5th anniversary, there will also be a prize draw in which five Upcycled leather jackets – all of which are one-of-a-kind – will be given away in a prize draw.
On 11 October, the REGULAR MEETING, at our Repair Café, a team of volunteers with plenty of specialist experience and even more patience will work with you to repair (almost) anything that’s in working order. Feel free to bring along – without needing to book in advance – household appliances, kitchen machines, irons, hairdryers, electric toothbrushes, hoovers, table and floor lamps, radios, record players, stereo systems, headphones, battery-powered devices and toys, cables, plugs or power adapters to the Libelle in the MuseumsQuartier between 12.30 pm and 4 pm, and enjoy the view over the rooftops of Vienna whilst sipping a cup of coffee.
