"Purpose - A new compass for our world"

Discussion with director Martin Oetting and guests

Climate crisis, social inequality, political uncertainties - the challenges of the present are huge and effective solutions are more in demand than ever. Economic policy is a key lever. It has been following a faulty compass for decades and is leading us ever deeper into the current crises. Two people want to replace this compass.

The film "Purpose - A new compass for our world" poses the central question of our time: What purpose do our economic systems serve and how can we realign them? The film accompanies Katherine Trebeck and Lorenzo Fioramonti, who are driving forward pioneering political projects.

Katherine Trebeck is fighting for an alliance of countries (Wellbeing Economy Governments) whose economic systems are focussed on what really matters for people and our planet.
Lorenzo Fioramonti takes the same ideas deep into politics, becoming a minister in the Italian government. Some of their ideas work, others fail. But a start has been made.
Following the film screening, director Martin Oetting, Leonore Gewessler (former Climate Protection Minister), Thomas Jakl (Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Climate and Environmental Protection, Regions and Water Management) and Katy Wiese (European Environmental Bureau) will discuss the film - moderated by Karin Huber-Heim (Circular Economy Forum Austria)
