About the Roundtable:
The Circular Cities & Regions Roundtable (CCRR) has been providing a platform for dialogue and cooperation on the circular economy in cities, municipalities and regions since 2024. With the 6th edition, we are focussing on the forward-looking topic of Bioeconomy - as an integral part of sustainable business practices and a pioneer for regional value creation, resource conservation and social transformation.
The roundtable creates space for knowledge transfer, concrete practical examples and partnership-based project development. It shows how cities and regions can act as innovation spaces for a sustainable bioeconomy - and thus make an important contribution to the national circular economy strategy.
In focus:
What does the bioeconomy actually mean for cities and regions? What potential does it harbour for the municipal implementation of the circular economy? And how can the interaction between city, country, research and practice succeed?
The Austrian bioeconomy strategy defines bioeconomy as an economic concept that replaces fossil fuels with renewable raw materials - in as many areas as possible. But it goes further: a consumption-reduced circular economy has a profound impact on everyday life and requires change in society as a whole. This is precisely where we come in.
The focus is on current insights into the Austrian bioeconomy strategypractical projects from the urban-regional area as well as approaches for education and knowledge transfer.
Target group:
The event is aimed at representatives from cities, municipalities and regions, particularly from the fields of climate protection, resource management, urban planning, economic development and sustainable development. Experts, multipliers and all those involved in the implementation of sustainable concepts in the public sector are also welcome.
