About the forum

The Bertalanffy Centre for the Study of Systems Science is an independent Austrian research and knowledge transfer institute. With its global network of expertise, it represents the systems science heritage and state-of-the-art applied systems research. We design systems.

The creation of value creation cycles requires a systemic approach, which is the core expertise of the BCSSS. As the organiser of the forum, the BCSSS supports and guarantees the holistic integration of the current system approaches and, through its content orientation and organisational form, provides a framework for the development and provision of a neutral forum in Austria that is independent of the political and economic interests of individual stakeholders.

Circular Futures - Platform Circular Economy Austria - is the competence partner for the transfer of knowledge and the further development of the political framework at national, European and international level. We shape policy and legislation.

Knowledge of existing and future regulations in the areas of environmental and economic policy is a key success factor for strategic and operational entrepreneurial action. Circular Futures is part of the work plan of the coordination group of the European Circular Economy Stakeholder Platform funded by the European Commission and is represented in the platform's coordination group via the European Environmental Bureau.

designaustria is Austria's first address for design. A total of more than 1,400 members from various sectors are currently committed to Austria as a design nation. We design products, services and processes. We design everyday life.

The knowledge bundled here in expert clusters such as sustainable design, industrial design, service design, experience design and information design is extensive and the international networking is far-reaching and interdisciplinary. Designaustria enables an expansion of know-how in the design and creative industry in Austria with regard to resources, framework conditions and extended design competences towards a circular regenerative economy in which design makes a significant contribution to value creation, from product and service design to customer perception and behaviour.
