Steirisches Vulkanland: From model to economically viable solution

Forward-looking successful projects and research results were presented at the final forum of the model region for bioeconomy & circular economy of the Styrian volcanic region in Feldbach. The spectrum ranged from the refinement of regional resources to food of the future and intelligently networked energy.

Experts from politics, research and practice emphasised the need to strengthen regions, create security of supply and combine ecological and economic sustainability.

For Valerie-Sophie Schönberg (Executive Director, Project Management in the „Circular Economy Team“), the next phase is clearly defined: „Now it's about moving from modelling to scaling“ - and thus transforming sustainable approaches into economically viable solutions.

We are looking forward to working on the lead project „Circular economy team“ to support further pioneering municipalities in the coming years. After all, the circular economy can only succeed through the interaction of public and private sector players - and above all through committed local people.
