Online Roundtable Designing a Circular Future

At the invitation of the Circular Economy Forum Austria, an online expert panel met on 12 October 2021 as part of the international Circular Week 2021. 73 participants to discuss the role of design in shaping a sustainable, circular future for Europe. Rethinking the economy requires creativity, unconventional approaches and new and unusual alliances for circular innovation.

DesignAustria board member Martin Fössleitner explained the New European Bauhaus, with which the EU is anchoring design as part of its strategy to transform Europe into the first climate-neutral continent. Forum Director Karin Huber-Heim discussed the limits and opportunities for companies and the role of emotion and imagination in the transition to a circular economy and society with Christoph Thun-Hohenstein, Biennale for Change, Andrea Kessler, Materialnomaden, Florian Thalheimer, IKEA and Harald Gründler EOOS.
