Madaster Free launched in partnership with Kirchdorfer: life cycle assessments and material passports are now available free of charge.

It was launched recently Madaster Free: The new platform offers key circular economy tools free of charge – ranging from comprehensive product data, through life cycle assessment and circularity assessment, to digital stock-taking – and makes it easier to get started in the circular construction industry.

It is aimed at stakeholders across the entire construction value chain, from planning and execution, through manufacturing and building owners, to education and research. This means that students can also benefit from free access. In doing so, Madaster is pursuing its vision of making the circular economy widely accessible and practical to use. 14 leading companies from all sectors of the construction value chain support the platform as Circularity Leader. 

Anna-Vera Deinhammer, Vice-President of the Circular Economy Forum Austria and Endowed Professor of Sustainable Real Estate Development at the Vienna University of Applied Sciences (FH Wien der WKW), sees the launch of the platform as an important step: „The circular economy in the construction sector needs digital tools – but above all, scientifically sound knowledge. In our research project KRAISBAU Together with over 30 partners, we are developing methods for digital material passports and AI-supported circular economy. “Making Madaster available to universities enables students to work with real-world building data and not only to apply the links between carbon footprint assessment, material cycles and property value, but also to critically evaluate them.”
