The white paper "Circularity as the New Normal" analyses circular economy developments in Switzerland. It shows how a circular economy can contribute to sustainable development by utilising resources more efficiently, closing material loops and reducing waste. The analysis focuses on various sectors such as food, textiles, financial services, pharmaceuticals, watches and jewellery.
Four central strategies are presented: Conserving resources, closing material cycles, extending product life and regenerating natural resources. These approaches aim to minimise the environmental impact and at the same time create economic benefits.
The white paper also contains recommendations on how Switzerland can achieve its goals in the circular economy through innovative business models and political measures.
