Bulk forming in Germany: an energy-intensive and energy-efficient industry

The steel industry is confronted with rising energy costs and the EEG levy, which creates competitive disadvantages in international comparison. An issue of the magazine "massiverFOKUS" therefore deals with the challenges facing the industry in the course of the sustainable energy transition, which has an economic impact on energy-intensive industries. New financing for the energy transition and incentive systems for energy efficiency are called for.

In the course of this, a global CO2 price to create fair competitive conditions and replace the EEG levy. Political adjustments are necessary to secure the international competitiveness of the German steel industry and at the same time achieve the goals of the energy transition.
