The Circular Economy Initiative Deutschland (CEID) has developed 22 circular business model templates that are intended to serve as guidelines for companies to anchor circular value creation in practice.
The concept "Products like new" provides for returned, repaired or technically upgraded products to be offered at more favourable prices and for maintenance and repair services to be extended beyond the warranty period.
In addition, companies that consume large amounts of resources and pollute the environment are to be held more accountable. Companies that invest in circular processes, on the other hand, should receive tax relief. Transparent, internationally recognised quality standards for materials and products are necessary in order to create genuine cycles.
Consumers are also called upon to choose products and services based on circular models - public institutions are called upon to set an example here.
The transition to a circular economy requires a joint commitment from business, science, politics and consumers. This is the only way to ensure a sustainable future.
