In February 2023, the Circular Innovation Lab published a white paper that addresses the challenges facing China's transition to a circular economy (CE).
The circular economy has the potential to reduce dependence on critical imports and promote sustainable economic models. Despite significant progress in the industrial reuse of water and waste, there are still difficulties, such as high investment costs for recycling facilities, a lack of skilled labour and insufficient public awareness of the circular economy. To overcome these challenges, the white paper suggests optimising the distribution of recycling facilities, developing strategies to train circular economy professionals and increasing public cooperation with circular economy initiatives.
