Together for a circular future.

Circular Innovation Journey Netherlands

Circular business models as a competitive advantage

The Netherlands is considered a hotspot of circular innovation in Europe. Political representatives and decision-makers have recognised from the outset that a circular economy is a competitive advantage for the country, which will be affected by global warming more than almost any other country in Europe. Circular business models play a crucial role in the transformation to a regenerative economy and the Netherlands already has a large number of successful best-practice examples.

On this journey into the future, we met organisations such as Circular Hotspot Holland, Circle Economy and Metabolic - all pioneers in developing the understanding of the circular economy and its implementation in companies. (Read the programme here!) In Amsterdam and Utrecht, participants had the opportunity to gain first-hand insights from companies that are successful with innovative business models and to discuss their challenges and lessons learnt. We learnt from experts and pioneers of the circular economy how cooperation and collaboration promote a rethink in value creation - which not only gives companies, but also Amsterdam and the entire country a locational advantage in international competition.
