Together for a circular future.

theLivingCore

theLivingCore develops vibrant and prosperous organisations and ecosystems. We create spaces for the new by providing orientation and meaning in a rapidly changing world. As knowledge and innovation architects, we take responsibility for the entire innovation process, from scientific research and design to the realisation and implementation of the necessary changes. In recent years, we have developed, planned and successfully realised some of the most forward-looking innovation projects - based on cutting-edge academic research.

We stand for the Enabling of innovation and change: Change and innovation cannot be "made" from above. They are not something that we can command and completely control. Nevertheless, it is better not to leave innovation to chance. Knowing that change and innovation cannot be forced from the outside, we enable the self-empowerment of organisations and entire ecosystems with key stakeholders to co-create a desirable future within their organisations and ecosystems.

As a forward-looking company with a future-oriented approach, we cannot emphasise enough how crucial and indeed existential it will be to tackle the climate crisis, the loss of biodiversity, inadequate waste management and the depletion of natural resources. The transition to a much more sustainable and therefore circular economy is a central concern of the 21st century. We are well aware of this. However, we recognise that change, especially far-reaching, global change, is difficult to achieve. And it all depends on how we are as human beings. It has been proven time and time again that the human spirit is resistant to change, and this also applies to our organisations. Nevertheless, we need a profound, comprehensive and lasting change in the way we run our economy.

To overcome these obstacles, profound change and meaningful (purposeful) innovation must come from within. This means that we need to empower organisations and their ecosystems to change on their own. We are convinced that organisations are already capable of implementing their own circular economy methods, rather than imposing a detached concept of circular change on them. The key is to create the conditions for organisations to act independently and from within. In this way, the resulting change can be both radical and meaningful, comprehensible and therefore sustainable.

Understanding circularity means understanding complexity. However, it is in the nature of complexity that it often eludes our understanding. To grasp it and make sense of it, we need a multidisciplinary community that understands the topic from different angles and perspectives. It is not only necessary to pool expertise. By bringing together experts from different backgrounds, we can also create exactly the conditions that are necessary to break down existing structures, create new ones and enable transformation and innovation for a circular economy. This is why we value the multidimensional approach of the Bertalanffy Centre for Systems Science and the Circular Economy Forum Austria, which will be of crucial importance in the future.

Oliver Lukitsch

theLivingCore is represented by Oliver Lukitsch. Oliver studied Cognitive Science at the University of Vienna. He is interested in the question of how "sense of agency" and uncertainty interact positively with each other, whereby a deep understanding of circular feedback processes in dealing with uncertainty is important to him. He teaches at the University of Vienna in the field of philosophy of mind and cognitive science, pursuing a radically interdisciplinary approach. As an "Agency Catalyst" at theLivingCore, Oliver supports innovation and transformation projects. Oliver has extensive experience in a variety of innovation, transformation and strategy development projects with organisations from a wide range of industries. He supports clients through consulting, workshops and coaching, emphasising a learning environment in which the autonomy and capacity for change of clients and participants is strengthened and can flourish.
