Leffers et al. shed light on current challenges in the infrastructure sector and show how a more sustainable infrastructure can be created through the implementation of circular economy principles, circular design, material reuse and innovative digital technologies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">This is illustrated by examples from the Netherlands, which is regarded as a pioneer in the implementation of circular economy strategies in the infrastructure sector.
