The report \"International System Change Compass: The Global Implications of Achieving the European Green Deal\" analyses the global impact of implementing the European Green Deal (EGD) and calls for more far-reaching systemic changes. Global crises - climate change, biodiversity loss and environmental pollution - are closely interlinked and can only be solved through comprehensive changes to the economic system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Incremental improvements are not enough to tackle the climate crisis. It calls for radical change that reduces the overuse of resources in wealthy countries and promotes global justice. The report criticises the fact that the EGD is currently too focused on the supply side and does not take sufficient account of demand and global impacts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The report suggests that the EU should take a leadership role in the global transformation through its policies, seeking a fair distribution of resources and greater co-operation with poorer countries. This also includes new governance mechanisms and international standards that promote social and environmental sustainability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A comprehensive reorganisation of the global economic order is needed that goes beyond the European context and strengthens global cooperation for a sustainable future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
