Lenzing<\/a> is a large, globally active fibre manufacturer and biorefinery and one of Austria's most innovative companies with a long tradition of sustainable production. The large, globally active fibre manufacturer has a remarkable history: Having evolved from paper production to viscose fibre production over the course of the 20th century, Lenzing was one of the first companies to introduce closed chemical loops for the production of pulp and viscose fibres in the 1970s. Over the past three decades, Lenzing has developed and patented biodegradable vegetable cellulose while creating a sustainable production process through exhaust air purification and wastewater treatment systems. The listed company supplies its patented sustainable fibres (Lyocell) worldwide to fashion, hygiene and cosmetics brands, industrial and agricultural brands, as well as directly to customers. Its technological solutions also enable the recycling of cotton waste from clothing production that would otherwise be incinerated or sent to landfill.
